Professor Cory Wikan's "Listening in Paris" class started Sunday morning by attending Mass at Saint-Eustache, a stunning Gothic church. The present building was constructed between 1532 and 1632, and its 8,000 pipe organ is recognized as the largest in France. As these students now know from personal experience, it is a gorgeous instrument.

After Mass, students had a chance to explore the church and the surrounding neighborhood, which includes the modern reconstruction of Paris's old central market, Les Halles, and rue Montorgueil, a pleasant street of cafes and shops.
